Bungalow conversion
- From 2 to 5 bedrooms
- Surrey
We recently completed a full roof replacement and ground floor extension on a bungalow loft conversion. The project included the removal of the old roof and the installation of new 9×2 floor joists with tongue and groove flooring, secured with glue and screws.
Steel work was also assembled and fitted on site, along with new 6×2 rafters and two Velux windows. The rafters were insulated and plaster boarded, and the entire flat bungalow roof dormer was fitted with wall hung tiles and UPVC windows. The stairs were also assembled and fitted on site, and all internal stud work was completed as per the drawings.
In addition to the roof work, we also completed a ground floor extension on this lovely bungalow with a 9×2 flat roof and bi-folding doors. The joists were fitted to accommodate a 3x2m roof lantern, and the bungalow extension was finished with fascia, soffit, and guttering. We also handled all of the first and second fix plumbing and electrics.
In addition to the bungalow extension, we converted the garage with a flat roof into a pitched roof, adding brickwork to accommodate a window and creating an internal door knock-through to create a new room. The project included the installation of door liners, doors (including fire-rated doors), architraves, skirting, and flooring, as well as a new kitchen. Overall, it was a comprehensive and successful project, and we are grateful for the opportunity to work on such a unique bungalow loft conversion.
